Kennewick and Hermiston are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
On Tuesday, Kennewick came up short against Southridge and fell 11-8. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Suns recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Rylee Bendewald made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Alayna Goodnight was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Hermiston hadn't beaten Southridge on the road since May 5, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Suns with a sharp 20-4 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Piper Roberts looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
At the plate, Hermiston got a massive performance out of Kenley Venoy, who scored four runs while going 4-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Addyson Davis, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Hermiston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Hermiston's record now sits at 6-4. As for Kennewick, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Kennewick hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Hermiston struggles in that department as they've averaged .454. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kennewick might still be hurting after the 10-4 defeat they got from Hermiston in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
