After flying high against the Florin Panthers last Wednesday, the Natomas Nighthawks came back down to earth. Natomas took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Campus. Natomas was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as West Campus apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Natomas still got an impressive performance from Aeron Wallace, who scored 19 points. Darius Hemmingway was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 11 rebounds.
Zach Villanueva continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for West Campus, scoring 28 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Villanueva has scored at least a third of West Campus' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Green, who scored ten points.
Natomas' defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for West Campus, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Valley the next time they take the court. Natomas will host Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while West Campus will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
