Whitehouse is 0-5 against Longview since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Whitehouse Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Longview Lobos at 7:00 p.m. Whitehouse's last eight contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Whitehouse has not lost a match since January 11th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Hallsville a 1-0 shutout. That's two games straight that Whitehouse has won by exactly one goal.
Meanwhile, Longview came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They beat Pine Tree by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-0. Longview's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.
Whitehouse's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1-4. As for Longview, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2-3 record this season.
Whitehouse might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Longview in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Whitehouse avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
