If The O'Fallon Panthers were riding high off their 23-0 takedown of the Alton Redbirds last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. O'Fallon took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cahokia. O'Fallon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cahokia apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, O'Fallon still got an impressive performance from Jahkori Adams, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown.
Cahokia can attribute much of their success to Jramuel Holman, who rushed for 130 yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding O'Fallon to a paltry 205 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Cahokia's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Cornelius Griffin and his two sacks.
O'Fallon now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Cahokia, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
O'Fallon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cahokia will head out on the road to face off against Breese Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Breese Central is ranked 123rd, while Cahokia is ranked 120th).
