The Avon Orioles will head out to face off against the Decatur Central Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Avon is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past North Central 16-4 on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Orioles needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Isaac Kramer looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.
On the hitting side, Avon got a massive performance out of Clayton Lenz, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Lenz has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Layne Harman, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Decatur Central hadn't done well against Franklin Community recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Hawks beat the Grizzly Cubs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-4. The win was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won three games in a row.
Luke McWhirter looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Decatur Central's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Smith, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. Zach Losito also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Avon's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-11. As for Decatur Central, their record is now 16-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Avon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Decatur Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Avon couldn't quite finish off Decatur Central when the teams last played back in April and fell 4-2. Can the Orioles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
