The Havana Ducks will face off against the Brimfield Indians at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Brimfield will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Havana extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday. Everything went the Ducks' way against Abingdon/Avon as they made off with a 13-2 win. The Ducks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Maddie Howerter made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.9 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, Kaydi Miller and Addie Atwater did most of the damage at the plate: Miller scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Atwater went 1-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Evy Smith, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Brimfield got themselves on the board against Delavan on Thursday, but Delavan never followed suit. They blew past the Panthers 10-0. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.
The team relied heavily on Kendyl Binder, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Layni Linthicum, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Brimfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delavan only posted a batting average of .118.
Brimfield pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Havana, their win bumped their record up to 8-0-1.
Both Havana and Brimfield just can't seem to miss. The Ducks have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Brimfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Havana came up short against Brimfield in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 8-4. Will the Ducks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
