Newburgh Free Academy has gone a perfect 3-0 against Beacon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Goldbacks will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 5:15 p.m. Newburgh Free Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Newburgh Free Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Kingston, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Goldbacks fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday. The Goldbacks' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Parker Mullarkey was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Camryn LeClair, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Beacon was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 20-6 to Spackenkill.

Meg Nicholson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Drew Kelly also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Newburgh Free Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Beacon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Beacon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Newburgh Free Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Beacon, though, as they've been averaging 10.3 hits. Given Newburgh Free Academy's sizable advantage in that area, the Bulldogs will need to find a way to close that gap.

Newburgh Free Academy took their win against Beacon in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 21-0 score. Will the Goldbacks repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
