The Bell Creek Academy Panthers will be playing at home against the Specially Fit Academy Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Bell Creek Academy will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
Bell Creek Academy pushed their score all the way to 71 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 89-71 bruising from Westminster Academy. While losing is never fun, Bell Creek Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Westminster Academy is ranked seventh).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Caleb Sanders, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermal Jones, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Specially Fit Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Life Christian Academy by a score of 59-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bell Creek Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Specially Fit Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-13.
