The Philip Scotties will head out on the road to square off against the Lyman Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Philip focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Philip earned a 45-32 win over Jones County.
Philip's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Drew Terkildsen led the charge by scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Terkildsen has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Quinn Terkildsen, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Lyman stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 62-38 margin over Chamberlain.
Philip's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Lyman, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.
Philip came up short against Lyman in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 50-42. Can Philip avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
