Milton is a perfect 3-0 against Baker since March of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Gators at 6:00 p.m. Milton's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Baker's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Milton is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Gulf Breeze just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Dolphins by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Ponce De Leon hit Baker with a five-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Gators fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Gators have suffered since March 3, 2025.

Lacey McCranie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Zoe Moncada was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Adahline Burks, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Baker's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Milton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Baker's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Milton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Baker, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will Milton keep running through batters, or will the Gators buck the trend?

Milton was able to grind out a solid win over Baker in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
