If The Pearce Mustangs were feeling good off their 49-3 takedown of the Irving Tigers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pearce suffered a rough 45-20 defeat at the hands of Highland Park on Friday. Pearce has struggled against Highland Park recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Presley Harper, who threw for 419 yards on 29 of 47 attempts, and also punched in two rushing scores. Jack Mcgarry also helped out as he racked up 135 receiving yards.
Pearce's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Highland Park, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Pearce does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Highland Park will be playing in front of their home fans against Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arlington is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
