5A District 6 recap November 13, 2013
South Sumter extended the longest winning streak in 5A District 6 this week by beating Leesburg, 30-10. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
Hernando lost to Springstead 41-20 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Nature Coast Tech's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ryan Quigley threw for 56 yards and Lenny Beetz had 31 yards receiving. On the ground DeShawn Smith chipped in 112 yards. Smith helped Nature Coast Tech's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 25 yards.

6-foot-0 quarterback David Tinch of Weeki Wachee is the league leader in passing yards this season with 583. He has also thrown 1 touchdown. The leading receiver in the league this season is Devon Brockington. The Zephyrhills star has 21 catches for 405 yards.
Pasco's Malik Johns needs only 20 yards against North Marion next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 113 carries Johns has accumulated 980 yard this year.
The Pirates led the league in scoring this week by notching 49 points on River Ridge.
