Baseball Recap: Soper Has No Trouble Against Varsity Opponent

Soper won the last time they faced Varsity Opponent and things went their way on Monday too. The Bears put the hurt on Varsity Opponent with a sharp 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Dallin Gilbert was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Soper's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 3-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Caydin Carter, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Soper and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Soper wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-7 win against Milburn on the 2nd. Varsity Opponent does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
