Basketball Recap: Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]'s Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] entered their tilt with Plainview on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 37-16 margin over the Plainview Pirates. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 21 points or more this season.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]'s victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jenna Funk, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Funk a new career-high in blocks (four). Caydence Schumacher was another key player, putting up eight points and nine rebounds.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Plainview lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kenzie Doerr, who posted eight points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Miller, who put up two points along with 14 rebounds and three blocks.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]'s win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5. As for Plainview, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] will square off against West Holt at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Plainview, they will challenge Neligh-Oakdale on Friday.
