The Frederick Golden Eagles won the last time they faced the Niwot Cougars, and things went their way on Thursday too. Frederick came out on top against Niwot by a score of 60-49.
Marcus Garcia was his usual excellent self, scoring 11 points along with two steals. Zach Burton was another key contributor, scoring three points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Niwot lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brighton Langenegger, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jackson Carano, who scored ten points.
The victory got Frederick back to even at 5-5. As for Niwot, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Frederick's road trip will continue as they head out to face Northridge at 2:00 p.m. on January 13th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Drake Walker and Garcia. As for Niwot, they will play host again and welcome Mountain View, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Mountain View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday.
