The Wayne Pioneers stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They breezed by Sissonville on the road to the tune of 75-36. Winning may never get old, but Wayne sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Brooke Adkins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Adkins is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jaycelyn Sammons, who scored ten points along with eight steals and five assists.
Sissonville's loss came despite strong showings from Makaela Ullman and Kynadee Britton. Ullman scored seven points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Britton scored 11 points along with two steals. Britton hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Wayne's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.5 points. As for Sissonville, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season.
Wayne will be playing at home against Poca at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sissonville, they will head out on the road to challenge Roane County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
