The Del Oro Golden Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Folsom, falling 61-21. While losing is never fun, Del Oro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Folsom is ranked 16th).
Del Oro's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Caden Pinnick, who rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 143 yards and a touchdown. Robert Garcia was in the mix too, providing Del Oro with two touchdowns.
Ryder Lyons continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Folsom, rushing for 80 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 219 yards and five touchdowns. Lyons is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abram Woodson, who gained 110 total yards and two touchdowns.
Del Oro's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Folsom, the win was the fourth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Del Oro will take on Whitney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitney is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Folsom, they will be playing at home against Granite Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
