The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for E.L. Haynes in their matchups with SEED DC: they've now lost seven in a row.
E.L. Haynes' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jency Beatriz, who scored 16 points. Damien Smith was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
SEED DC got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Wendell Allsbrook out in front who scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Mercer, who scored 14 points.
E.L. Haynes' defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for SEED DC, their win bumped their record up to 3-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. E.L. Haynes will challenge Capital City Public Charter School at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Capital City Public Charter School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday. As for SEED DC, they will head out on the road to challenge Parkside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Parkside is ranked 16th, while SEED DC is ranked 35th).
