Northwest recap Oct. 3, 2012
Lima Central Catholic extended the longest winning streak in Northwest this week by beating Spencerville, 28-20. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Columbus Grove moved up to 299 from 338 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bulldogs were able to make the jump by beating Evergreen 30-21.
Ada's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mason Acheson threw for 336 and three touchdowns and Micah Roberson had 115 yards receiving. On the ground Kellen Decker chipped in 230 yards. Decker helped Ada's passing attack out by catching two balls for 95 yards.
Ada's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Acheson has thrown for 1635 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Roberson has 27 catches for 456 yards. Decker leads the league in rushing with 1159 yards.
A big matchup in Northwest this week will be when the Bulldogs take on Crestview. As it stands, Ada is in second, while the Knights are in fifth.
Mike Fell's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Paulding. Acheson ran for 37 yards in the win.
