For the first time this season, Lakeside will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to square off against the Magnolia Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Lakeside is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arkansas' top teams: Camden Fairview, who was ranked 24th at the time (Lakeside was ranked 14th). The Rams managed a 33-28 victory over the Cardinals on Friday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Peter Ohman
09/26/25 vs Camden Fairview | 133 |
09/12/25 vs Robinson | 109 |
08/29/25 @ Lake Hamilton | 59 |
09/05/25 @ Sheridan | 53 |
10/18/24 @ Hope | 33 |
Lakeside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Peter Ohman led the charge by rushing for 133 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 133 rushing yards gave Ohman a new career-high. Drew Morgan also helped out with an impressive 100 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Magnolia got themselves on the board against Arkansas on Friday, but Arkansas never followed suit. They blew past the Razorbacks, posting a 36-0 victory. That 36 point margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.
Magnolia found their leader in sophomore Carmelo McDonald, who picked up 3.5 sacks and made 11 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Magnolia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 203 rushing yards in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Magnolia's defense and their ten sacks. McDonald led the group effort, picking up 3.5 of those sacks all by himself. Magnolia got some further help from Getyren Williams: he forced one fumble and made four total tackles in addition to snagging two interceptions.
Lakeside's record is now 3-1. As for Magnolia, their record now sits at an identical 3-1.
Everything came up roses for Lakeside against Magnolia in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 36-7 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Panthers' J2 Young, who rushed for 118 yards and one score. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Rams to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
