The Liberty Raiders will be taking part in a tournament against the James Monroe Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Liberty is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Liberty's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Summers County as they made off with a 22-0 win. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Maddie Cox made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Liberty got a massive performance out of Stella Brown, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave Brown a new career-high. Alyssa Scarbro was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one triple.
Liberty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .741. They are 10-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, James Monroe entered their tilt with Graham on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They beat the G-Men by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 9-8. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Bryleigh Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, James Monroe saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Street, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Another was Aliyah Clarkson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Liberty's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for James Monroe, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Liberty hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .373.
