The Gates Chili Spartans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They secured a 76-72 W over Northeast/Northwest College Prep. The victory was some much needed relief for Gates Chili as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Gates Chili got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joey Vigerzi out in front who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 2 assists. Vigerzi hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Tantalo, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.
Gates Chili's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Northeast/Northwest College Prep, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-3.
Gates Chili will be playing at home against Spencerport at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Northeast/Northwest College Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on School of the Arts at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th.
