It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers can now relate to. They were beaten by the Crusaders 62-15 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Berkeley Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while Tampa Catholic is ranked 50th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tampa Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashley Knox, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Knox hasn't dropped below 17 points for three straight games. Khalia Woodley was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Berkeley Prep's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-12. As for Tampa Catholic, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
Berkeley Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tampa Catholic, they will square off against Tampa Prep at TBD on Friday. Tampa Prep will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Tampa Catholic surely won't give up without a fight.
