Riley Taylor was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Addison Taylor was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Judith Montoya also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Alto entered their tilt with Grapeland on Saturday with 14 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 15. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Sandies.
Lacey Stephenson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks.
At the plate, Alto got a big performance out of Brianna Low, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Jocelyn Ramirez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.
Alto pushed their record up to 17-4-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Woden, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Woden has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Alto struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
