The Palmer Ridge Bears pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 65-58 to Lewis-Palmer. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Palmer Ridge in their matchups with Lewis-Palmer: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Palmer Ridge still got an impressive performance from Jimmer Weir, who scored 21 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Weir hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Mason Kay, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Leading Lewis-Palmer to victory were Damarion Jelks and Cohen Edmondson. Jelks scored 21 points, while Edmondson scored 22 points. Edmondson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Johnson, who scored nine points.
Palmer Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Lewis-Palmer, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Palmer Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Air Academy is ranked 139th, while Palmer Ridge is ranked 143rd). As for Lewis-Palmer, they will head out on the road to take on Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lutheran is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 12 games.
