Halifax Academy had won six straight home games and Payton Odom did her part to make it seven on Wednesday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Ridgecroft Rams thanks in part to Odom, who had 24 assists and three aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more assists the last 14 times she's played.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-10, 25-17.

Leading Halifax Academy to victory were Emma Inscoe and Lex Roundtree. Inscoe had five aces, while Roundtree had eight aces and seven kills. Those eight aces gave Roundtree a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Halifax Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 14 consecutive matchups.

Halifax Academy's record is now 13-5. As for Ridgecroft, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six matches and leaves them with a 12-5 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Halifax Academy will face off against Kerr-Vance Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ridgecroft, they will square off against Southampton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
