Mountain Vista is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 62-6 victory over Overland. A big part of Mountain Vista's win came down to the chemistry between Marquise Reese and his top target Brooklyn Bailey. Reese threw for 109 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes while Bailey picked up 71 receiving yards and three scores. What's more, Reese racked up 153.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024. Roman Cloos was in the mix as well, providing Mountain Vista with two TDs.
Mountain Vista's run defense was locked in: Overland could only muster two yards per carry. The team can thank Noah Cella for the heroic effort on defense: he. Mountain Vista didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.4.
Mountain Vista didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Hudson Modrzewski, Ryder Adams, and Halden Robinson picked up one apiece. Adams got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Valor Christian played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 38-14 to Ralston Valley. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Mountain Vista's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points over those games. As for Valor Christian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
Everything came up roses for Mountain Vista against Valor Christian in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 62-21 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Eagles' Cash Spence, who picked up 77 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground.
