Maret is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Banneker is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Maret Frogs will host the Banneker Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Tuesday, Maret was able to grind out a solid win over Flowers, taking the game 69-59.

Maret had a senior duo take command as Kennedy Austin dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 boards and London Liley went 6 of 14 on her way to 21 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Austin has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 19 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Amara Flowers, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Banneker). They really took it to Cardozo for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-16 victory. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 22 points or more this season.
Banneker's win came from a few key players Maret will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ava Baughns, who posted eight points in addition to ten steals and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Rainelle McNeil, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 13 points and five assists.
Banneker was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Maret has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Banneker, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Maret has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 36 boards per game. However, it's not like Banneker struggles in that department as they've been averaging 42.3 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Maret came up short against Banneker in their previous meeting back in December of 2017, falling 37-31. Will Maret have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
