Lexi Johnson and Samantha Marks certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Johnson posted 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Marks scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Marks is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.
Even though they lost, South Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jimtown only pulled down two offensive boards.
Leading Jimtown to victory were Lily Gaugler and Kiera Jackson. Gaugler went 5 of 8 to rack up 20 points and five rebounds, while Jackson had ten points and six boards. Those 20 points gave Gaugler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Williams, who earned four points.
South Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Jimtown, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-19.
South Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-54 defeat against Oregon-Davis on the 30th. As for Jimtown, they have also already played their next match, a 41-20 win against Trinity Greenlawn on the 30th.
