Stamford has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Greenwich Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stamford has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Last Tuesday, Stamford faced Trumbull in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Stamford sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-59 win over Trumbull. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stamford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ejai Presley, who scored 16 points. Presley has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Connors, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Greenwich pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Darien.
Stamford's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Greenwich, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Stamford and Greenwich were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but Stamford came up empty-handed after a 50-49 loss.
