The Southside Christian Warriors's 14-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They blew past Spirit of Life Christian Academy 56-10 at home. Southside Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Southside Christian can attribute much of their success to Annie Winterstein, who scored 14 points along with nine steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Kendall Cartonia was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five steals.
Southside Christian's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-9. As for Spirit of Life Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southside Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Neuse Charter at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for Spirit of Life Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
