Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Overland, as they earned their first road win of the season. They blew past Westminster 50-21 on the road on Friday. The Trailblazers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by 27 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Jarrius Ward, who rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry. Those 190 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Overland's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Weston Travis Jr. was especially locked on to Westminster's QB and sacked him twice. Travis Jr. also sacked two sacks, which is notable because Overland is 2-1 when he posts at least two sacks, but 1-3 otherwise.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Overland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 365 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Overland, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
