The Colchester Lakers will venture away from home to face off against the Enosburg Falls Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Colchester is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Randolph, who was ranked 12th at the time (Colchester was ranked tenth). The Lakers walked away with a 3-1 win over the Ghosts on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lakers.
Colchester had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-23.

Colchester's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Reagan Beaudette, who had 14 digs and three assists, and Brynn Dewyea, who had eight digs and two aces. Those eight digs gave Dewyea a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Enosburg Falls earned a 3-1 victory over Montpelier on Friday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Solons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Enosburg Falls walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-11, 25-22, 21-25, 25-19.
Colchester better keep an eye on Annalise Robtoy. She was instrumental in Enosburg Falls' win, getting ten digs and ten aces. Colleen Robtoy was another key player, getting seven digs and four aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Enosburg Falls was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 23 aces. They served eight more aces than Montpelier's also-impressive total of 15.
Colchester's record now sits at 6-3. As for Enosburg Falls, their record is now 9-2.
Colchester was able to grind out a solid win over Enosburg Falls when the teams last played back in September of 2024, winning 3-1. Will the Lakers repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
