After flying high against the Burlington Cougars last Saturday, The Wiggins Tigers came back down to earth. Wiggins' tough 42-21 defeat to Limon on Friday might stick with them for a while. Wiggins has struggled against Limon recently, as their contest on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Wiggins lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jayson Lousberg. Despite the final result, he rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns. Lousberg is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played.
Lohgan Bottjer was a one-man wrecking crew for Limon as he rushed for 270 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 15.0 yards per carry.
Wiggins' loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Limon, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wiggins will square off against Wray at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Wray is ranked 71st, while Wiggins is ranked 79th). As for Limon, they will head out on the road to face off against Y at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
