The Windermere Wolverines will challenge the Spruce Creek Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Windermere 2.5, Spruce Creek 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Windermere is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Olympia just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Titans by a score of 5-4. Wolverines fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Titans since on Tuesday.

Windermere got a good showing from Xavier Roman, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Roman a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
At the plate, Windermere saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Randy Ruiz, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Spruce Creek entered their tilt with University on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the Titans. Considering the Hawks have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jordan Livingston spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Nathan Ricko was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Tyler Boyesen was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Spruce Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Windermere's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Spruce Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Windermere has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Spruce Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Windermere was able to grind out a solid win over Spruce Creek in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 5-1. Will Windermere repeat their success, or does Spruce Creek have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
