The Crest Lancers fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Pleasanton Blu-Jays on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blu-Jays by a score of 53-51. Crest was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blu-Jays apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Pleasanton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mario Davis, who scored 18 points along with three steals and three blocks. Davis has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tony Gillespie, who scored 16 points.
Crest now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Pleasanton, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crest will take on the Wildcats at TBD on Thursday. As for Pleasanton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jayhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
