The Stark County Rebels will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Galva Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Stark County has four straight victories, Galva has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Stark County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. Everything went their way against Wethersfield as Stark County made off with a 77-51 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Stark County has posted since December 7, 2023.
Galva suffered their biggest defeat since November 24, 2023 on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 67-44 loss at the hands of Annawan. Galva has not had much luck with Annawan recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Galva saw an underclassman step up: JP Sloan scored 16 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Sloan scored 15 or more points. Blake Stahl was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Stark County's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Galva, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Stark County took their victory against Galva in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 62-39. Will Stark County repeat their success, or does Galva have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
