Elm Creek has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The Elm Creek Buffaloes and the Gibbon Buffaloes will round out the year against one another at 4:15 p.m. on Friday at. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, Elm Creek came up short against St. Patrick's and fell 52-41.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kade Sindt, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quin Oberg, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Gibbon might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] an easy 57-32 win.
Elm Creek's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Gibbon, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-6.
Elm Creek ended up a good deal behind Gibbon in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, losing 50-33. Thankfully for Elm Creek, Konner Hyde (who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
