Baseball Recap: Legion Collegiate Academy Gets the Win

Legion Collegiate Academy owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Pro Stock Royals Academy Royals. The victory continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Royals: they've now won five in a row.

Coalson Williams tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He also put up six hits, which were his first of the season.

On the hitting side, Legion Collegiate Academy let Justin Iannetto and Andres Lopez run wild. Iannetto went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI, while Lopez scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Lopez has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Pond, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Legion Collegiate Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Pro Stock Royals Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Legion Collegiate Academy will challenge Metrolina Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Pro Stock Royals Academy, they will head out to challenge Gaston Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
