With a playoff game on the line, the Liberty Creek Wolves rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on Fairview with a sharp 49-27 win. Liberty Creek might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jax Mccoy, who threw for 260 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Travon Murry, who rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns.
The win (which was Liberty Creek's seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.7 points per game. As for Fairview, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Liberty Creek will square off against East Nashville Magnet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in East Nashville Magnet's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five matchups. Fairview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
