Basketball Recap: Memphis Business Academy Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Memphis Business Academy waltzed into their match on Wednesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They enjoyed a cozy 78-63 win over the Douglass Red Devils. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 67-34 back in January.

Memphis Business Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Larry Benson, who shot 5-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 assists. The contest was Benson's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaylon Hopson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds.

Memphis Business Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.0 points per game. As for Douglass, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Memphis Business Academy will square off against Lakeland Preparatory at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakeland Preparatory knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Memphis Business Academy likes a good challenge. As for Douglass, they will face off against Trezevant at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Douglass has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 208 points over their last three contests.
