North Sanpete is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Union a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The North Sanpete Hawks will square off against the Union Cougars at 6:00 p.m. North Sanpete will be strutting in after a win while Union will be coming in after a defeat.
North Sanpete will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Juab, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Hawks strolled past the Wasps with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 30-16. The Hawks pushed the score to 20-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wasps cut but never quite recovered from.

Ayden Akee had a dynamite game, rushing for 174 yards and three TDs. North Sanpete is undefeated when Akee posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 3-4 otherwise.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Sanpete was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 211 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 50 points the game before, Union was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They were beaten by Grantsville 43-7. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Even if they lost, Union's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Rhyker Oakden refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. He was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks, making five total tackles, and defending one pass.
North Sanpete's record is now 6-4. As for Union, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Everything came up roses for North Sanpete against Union when the teams last played back in October of 2020, as the team secured a 41-14 victory. In that matchup, the Hawks amassed a halftime lead of 21-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
