The Snyder Tigers won the last time they faced the Lake View Chiefs, and things went their way on Friday too. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 50-23 blowout they got on the road against Lake View. Given Snyder's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 678th, while Lake View is ranked 1439th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Peyten Grope, who scored eight points along with six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Arynne Vasquez, who scored 13 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Snyder and bumps their season record up to 10-14. As for Lake View, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-20.
Snyder will be playing at home against Levelland at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Levelland is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Lake View, they will take on Sweetwater at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sweetwater focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
