With a playoff game on the line, the Pelham Panthers rose to the challenge on Friday. They really took it to the Jaguars for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-27 victory at home. The win was familiar territory for Pelham who now have four in a row.
Pelham was led to victory by Karma Wynn and Tee King. Wynn scored 12 points along with five assists and two steals, while King scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which King has scored at least a third of Pelham's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shea Gallagher, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Pelham is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 20-10 record this season. As for Northridge, they dropped their record down to 19-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Pelham will square off against Chilton County at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Iasia Anderson and King. Northridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
