The Limestone Rockets will square off against the Dunlap Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Limestone will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Limestone is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since March 25th on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Lincoln 6-4.

The team relied heavily on Evan Daxenbichler, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Limestone is undefeated when Daxenbichler posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Alec Williams was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Daxenbichler wasn't the only one making solid contact: Limestone kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted in their last 11 matches.
Meanwhile, Dunlap entered their tilt with Normal West on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Wildcats 8-1. Considering the Eagles have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Christian Ferrari and Owen Shissler did most of the damage at the plate: Ferrari scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Shissler scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, Shissler posted three RBI, the most he's had over his last 11 games. Another player making a difference was Ryder Rennette, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Dunlap's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Limestone, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Limestone has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Dunlap struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Limestone might still be hurting after the 10-1 defeat they got from Dunlap when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
