Rockmart had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-18 win over the Laney Wildcats. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Rockmart to victory were Nate Davis and Tucker Parson. Davis rushed for 192 yards while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, while Parson threw for 188 yards and four touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Those 192 rushing yards gave Davis a new career-high. 118 of Parson's passing yards were hauled in by Gavin Green.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rockmart was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 218 rushing yards in eight consecutive matchups.

Rockmart pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.5 points on average over those games. As for Laney, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Coming up, Rockmart will square off against Burke County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 825 yards in their previous games. Laney does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
