Rogers and Springdale are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. On January 5th, Rogers came up short against Har-Ber and fell 61-50. While losing is never fun, Rogers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while Har-Ber is ranked tenth).
Springdale suffered their closest loss yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of Northside by a score of 58-55. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Springdale in their matchups with Northside: they've now lost seven in a row.
This is the second loss in a row for Rogers and nudges their season record down to 7-9. As for Springdale, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.
Everything came up roses for Rogers against Springdale when the teams last played back in February of 2020 as the team secured a 50-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rogers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
