After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wabaunsee, the Axtell Eagles were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They rang in the new year with a 43-34 victory over Onaga. This was payback for Axtell, who suffered a 48-25 defeat the last time these two teams met.
When it comes to explaining why Onaga lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brianna Bates. Despite the final result, she scored five points.
Axtell now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Onaga, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Axtell will take on Clifton-Clyde at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
