It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Boone Central Cardinals had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Ashland-Greenwood by a score of 21-14. Boone Central's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
It was another big night for PARKER BORER, who rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. BORER hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for nine straight games.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Ashland-Greenwood to a paltry 233 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Boone Central's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out six times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by THOMAS ROBERTS and BEN REILLY who racked up four sacks between them.
Although Ashland-Greenwood took the loss, they still got scores from Dane Jacobsen and Derek Tonjes.
Boone Central's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Ashland-Greenwood, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
Boone Central will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wahoo at 10:15 a.m. on November 21st. Wahoo will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Ashland-Greenwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
