Even though the Stillwater Warriors have not done well against the Cambridge N/A recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Stillwater walked away with a 52-41 win over Cambridge. Given Stillwater's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Cambridge is ranked 319th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Cambridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nicole LaFountain. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points LaFountain has scored all season. Ashley Moses was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Stillwater and bumps their season record up to 9-4. As for Cambridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.
Stillwater will be playing at home against Saratoga Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cambridge, they will head out on the road to challenge Whitehall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
